VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Technician

We are presently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Technical Account Manager (TAM). As a TAM, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing the technical relationship between QualityIP and our clients. You will work closely with them to understand their IT requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the successful delivery of our services. You will also work collaboratively with internal technical teams to ensure client satisfaction and optimize service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • VoIP System Installation: Deploy, configure, and maintain VoIP systems, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Network Integration: Integrate VoIP systems with existing data networks and ensure compatibility with other communication systems
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to VoIP connectivity, call quality, and system performance. Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess the performance of VoIP systems to ensure optimal call quality and reliability. Conduct regular testing and implement improvements as needed.
  • Security: Implement security measures to protect VoIP systems from unauthorized access, fraud, and cyber threats. Stay informed about industry best practices for VoIP security.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VoIP systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Keep records of system changes and updates.
  • User Training: Provide training and support to end-users on VoIP system features, functionalities, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT team members, network administrators, and other relevant stakeholders to address cross-functional issues and ensure the seamless integration of VoIP technology.
  • Upgrades and Maintenance: Keep abreast of new technologies and recommend system upgrades or enhancements to improve performance and meet business requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure that VoIP systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting VoIP communications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a VoIP Technician or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP technologies, protocols, and standards.
  • Familiarity with IP networking, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex telecom issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred).

Work Environment:

This role is primarily based in an office setting, with occasional on-site visits for installations and troubleshooting. The VoIP Technician may need to work flexible hours to accommodate system maintenance or respond to urgent issues.
